About Me

When you take books out of the equation, I am quite un-extraordinary. That said, here are the more interesting bits about me:

I am a novelist specialising in young adult fiction, usually in sci-fi and fantasy genres, although contemporary fiction does hold a special place in my heart. I wrote my first real piece of fiction at 8 years old – a retelling of Harry Potter (which I later learned was fanfiction, but that’s a slippery slope to talk about later) – and I don’t think I’ve had another ambition since.

At 21 years old, I’ve only just stopped being a teenager and therefore consider myself a bit of an authority on what it’s like to transition into adulthood (it’s terrifying), so that’s what I write about.
Outside of writing, I have studied French, German, Japanese, and Italian at conversational level, though I don’t practice as much as I probably should. I read the way other people breathe, i.e. all the time, without really thinking about it.

I harbour a love for Disney bordering on obsession, watch too much TV, play too many video games, and I blog. Sometimes about actual important things, but most of the time not.
